69-Year-Old Woman Knocked Unconscious On Way To Queens Church

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Video has been released of a 69-year-old woman being knocked unconscious on her way to a Queens church.

A young man is caught on video walking out of the Sutphin King Deli on Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, and then he punches the woman in the face, causing her to hit the ground.

Witnesses said the victim had been walking by the deli.

She spotted the man fighting with a store employee and told him to stop.

Fareek Ali, the store's owner, said the attacker is always stealing things.

"We all the time have a problem with him, but it's not like this time," Ali said. "How are you gonna do this to an old lady? She's like a mother."

The incident happened on Saturday morning.

The woman was taken to the hospital.
