Queens Teaching Assistant Reportedly Accused Of Sex With Boy, 14

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 39-year-old Queens teaching assistant has been charged with rape, on reported allegations that she had sexual encounters with a 14-year-old boy who attended her school.

Clara Somodi was charged Thursday with rape of a victim under 15 by a suspect over 18, and committing a criminal sex act, police said.

Police did not provide further details.

But the New York Daily News reported Somodi was accused of having sex with the boy in the hallway of his home about 10 times, the most recent time allegedly being just one day before her arrest.

Somodi had been on the staff of P.S. 9 in Ridgewood for 10 years, the newspaper reported.

The newspaper reported Somodi is the mother of a 9-year-old daughter. Her live-in boyfriend reportedly said Somodi would "never do" such a thing and the allegations "have to be false," the newspaper reported.
