Police: Man Slashes 3 People With Machete Outside Queens Restaurant

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police say a man wielding a machete slashed three other men outside a Queens restaurant.

The violence before dawn Sunday followed an argument at a Dominican eatery called Cibao's Restaurant in the Jackson Heights neighborhood. Police told CBS2 the incident started when three men tried to buy a woman a drink, angering her boyfriend.

Police say a 32-year-old man suffered cuts to his head and back, a 20-year-old man to his wrist, and the third, 23-year-old victim was slashed on his head and hand.

The three were all taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens and listed in stable condition.

The 24-year-old suspect remains at large.
