Box Truck Driver Killed In Crash After Crossing Center Median In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A box truck driver was killed in a crash after crossing the center median in Queens, police said.

It happened just after 6:30 a.m. Monday at Francis Lewis Boulevard and 49th Avenue.

Frederick Harris, 64, was driving the truck north on Francis Lewis Boulevard when police said he crossed over the median into the southbound lanes and slammed into three parked cars.

Harris was pronounced dead the scene, police said. Investigators believe he may have suffered a medical emergency while behind the wheel, CBS2 reported.

The Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause of death.
