Police: Woman Attacked Fellow 7 Train Passenger After Quarrel
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Tuesday night for a woman who allegedly attacked a fellow passenger on the No. 7 train in Queens following a quarrel.
Around 9:15 a.m. Monday, the victim, a 37-year-old woman, was headed inbound on the No. 7 train at Queensboro Plaza when she accidentally bumped into the other woman while taking a seat, police said.
The suspect sitting next to the woman began quarreling with her, and then began to pull her hair and punch her repeatedly in the face, head, shoulder and back, police said. The victim ended up with a dislocated right shoulder, police said.
The suspect then got off the train at either the Hunters Point or Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue station, police said.
The victim refused medical attention at the scene, police said. No one else was reported injured in the incident.
The suspect was described as an Asian female about 35 years old, standing about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 120 pounds. She had brown eyes, long wavy red hair and was last seen wearing a black waist-length coat and a multi-colored scarf, police said.
Police released a photo the victim took of the suspect on her cellphone.
