'Quantum Of The Seas' New Breed Of Cruise Ship Arrives In New York Area

BAYONNE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A new breed of cruise ship arrived in the New York metro area this past Monday.

Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas is the third largest cruise ship ever built. Director Jimmy Rhodes told 1010 WINS' Rebecca Granet that the "smartship" has changed everything in the cruise industry.

"We got bumper cars at sea, come on," Rhodes said.

The Quantum also has a bionic bar, where bottles of alcohol hang from the ceiling and robots pour drinks.

The ship can hold some 5,000 passengers, it took just over a week to make the trip from Southampton to Bayonne and will be in the New York area for the next 6 months.
