Pumpkin Carving Master Makes Appearance In Coney Island
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A man on the cutting-edge of Halloween made a special appearance Saturday in Coney Island.
Artist Marc Maniac showed off his pumpkin carving skills at Luna Park.
And while he realizes you might think he's out of his "gourd," he insists that carving pumpkins is really a form of expression like painting or sculpting.
Marc says he spend every fall working on hundreds of giant, orange orbs.
"Pumpkin carving is such a nostalgic part of Halloween and Americana, but we have really pushed to try and take it to the next level. We look at it as an art medium," he said.
He says he first became interested in pumpkin carving as a teenager.
