PSE&G Extends Credit Program For Natural Gas Bills In New Jersey

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Thanks to the drop in cost of natural gas, PSE&G is extending bill credits for its residential gas heating customers another two months.

New Jersey's largest utility announced the extension Wednesday. The credits will cut the average customer's bill by about 31 percent.

The bill credits for February and March are an extension of the credits PSE&G provided for gas usage in November, December and January.

Officials with the utility said the credits are mostly due to the continued availability of low-cost shale gas.
