Prosecutors: North Plainfield, N.J. Man Made 1,300 Child Porn Images Available Online

NORTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A central New Jersey man has been hit with serious criminal charges, following accusations that he made hundreds of child pornography images available online.

Jose Orellana, of North Plainfield, 42, was arrested after authorities searched his home this week, according to Somerset County prosecutors. The investigation began in October, but authorities have not disclosed what prompted the probe.

Orellana's computer was seized, and investigators say he had made more than 1,300 image files of child porn available for download online through a file-sharing network.

Orellana was charged with distributing child pornography and child endangerment.

His bail was set at $100,000 cash.
