Proposed Legislation Would Protect NJ Drivers From Out-Of-State Speed, Red Light Cameras

TRENTON, N.J.(CBSNewYork) -- New Jersey drivers may no longer have to worry about out-of-state speed and red light cameras.

New legislation would block the state Motor Vehicle Commission from sharing drivers' license plate information with other states for red light and speed camera violations.

The bill was introduced by Assemblyman Declan O'Scanlon (R) who said that the systems are not effective and that motorists should not be preyed upon.
