Professor Accused Of Teaching Phony Courses At Medgar Evers College

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A biology professor at Medgar Evers College is accused of teaching unauthorized courses and charging students for phony certifications.

Mamdouh Abdel-Sayed is accused of teaching fake courses on phlebotomy, EKGs and sonograms.

He would then allegedly charge students up to $1,000 for certificates he claimed were authorized by the school.

Abdel-Sayed was arraigned Friday on federal charges.

He was released on $100,000 bond.
