Princeton Investigating Anti-Semitic Fliers Printed On Campus

PRINCETON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Princeton University is investigating anti-Semitic messages that were printed on their networked printers.

The single page fliers were found in printers in several buildings Thursday and Friday.

"Princeton regards any actions making the atmosphere intimidating, threatening or hostile to individuals as serious offenses," said Princeton's Michele Minter. "These fliers are offensive and contrary to the values of the University, which is committed to creating and maintaining an environment free from discrimination and harassment."

The fliers urging white men to take up the struggle for global white supremacy also appeared in printers at DePaul University in Chicago, University of Massachusetts, Smith College and Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, 1010 WINS' Al Jones reported.

"It seems to us that it was a broad exploitation of printers across campuses across the country so we just happen to be one of many," said Min Pullan, acting director of media relations at Princeton.

In each case, the on-campus printers were accessed from an off-campus site.

"There are several ways they can do that," Pullan said. "Because the printers are accessible by Internet, it could be that the IP addresses have been received or accessed by somebody outside of campus and targeted that way."

Anyone with additional information about the fliers is asked to called Princeton's Department of Public Safety at (609) 258-1000.
