Pregnant Woman Accused Of Driving While On Drugs Following Kings Park Crash

KINGS PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A pregnant Long Island woman is facing charges after police said she crashed a car while under the influence of drugs, injuring herself and a passenger.

Suffolk County police said 26-year-old Danielle Wisnieski was driving a 2003 Cadillac Escalade northbound on Indian Head Road in Kings Park around 8 p.m. Wednesday when she lost control and the car overturned.

Wisnieski, who police said is 26 weeks pregnant, was given Narcan by members of the Suffolk County Police Medical Crisis Action Team before she was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for minor injuries.

A passenger in the car, 34-year-old Randal Jernigan, was taken to Huntington Hospital with minor injuries, police said.

Wisnieski, of Kings Park, is charged with driving while impaired by drugs. There is no word yet on when she will be arraigned.
