Powerball Jackpot Reaches $348 Million

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The Powerball jackpot crept higher again on Wednesday.

No one has won the full jackpot since March 2 and the multi-state lottery estimates Wednesday night's drawing was worth $348 million.

The winning numbers Tuesday night were 47, 69, 30, 66, 57, and Powerball 3.

While it's not chump change, it was a far cry from the $1.6 billion Powerball prize shared by three winning lottery ticketholders in January, the largest ever jackpot draw in the world.

But the jackpot is more than enough for many customers at a 7-Eleven in Hackensack.

"I'll take anything, I'd like to retire," said Steve.

"If it does happen then thank God, but I don't focus on it. I'll play it but I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch," said Moses.

"I'll buy an island and leave everybody," said Brian. "An island in the Caribbean where it's warm and sunny and I'm going to escape for the rest of my life and be invisible."

Powerball says the odds of winning the top prize are one in more than 292 million.

Powerball tickets are sold in 44 states, as well as the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
