Port Authority Bus Terminal To Be Replaced After 66 Years

TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The Port Authority Bus Terminal on Manhattan's West Side will be replaced.

New York and New Jersey officials announced an agreement Tuesday to build a new bus terminal. The current building has been in place for 66 years.

The new terminal will provide one-seat service for 110,000 weekday commuters.

Several New York officials wanted the terminal moved or built in New Jersey, citing environmental and health concerns.

Five proposed designs will be revealed on Thursday.
