All Clear After Suspicious Package Prompts Partial Evacuation Of Port Authority Bus Terminal

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A portion of the Port Authority Bus Terminal has reopened after being evacuated for about 45 minutes following a report of a suspicious package.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police spokesman Joe Pentangelo said the package was cleared around 3:30 p.m. and the closed portion of the terminal was reopened.

It was closed earlier after a police dog alerted officers to what police believed was a suspicious package that was wrapped in brown paper in front of a bar at the bus terminal, WCBS 880's Stephanie Colombini reported.

The Port Authority said arrivals were experiencing delays during the closure.
