Poll Ranks New Jersey As Least Favorable State In America

TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- New Jersey just might have an image problem.

In a new poll by YouGov that asked folks to rank states based on how favorably they view them, Hawaii topped the list.

But way down at the bottom is where you can find New Jersey, 1010 WINS' Al Jones reported.

Dwayne Quinn, of New Orleans, said it's because there's not much there.

"I mean I've heard it as the armpit capital of the world or even the butt crack capital of the world. You know, there's not much that attracts," he said.

But Lou, who hails from Queens, dismissed the ranking, saying those who don't like New Jersey haven't been to the state.

"It's great -- shore counties, those are great places," he said. "And if you've never been over there, it's fantastic."

In case you were wondering on the favorability scale, New York was somewhere in the middle, Jones reported.
