Poll: Brooklyn Is New York City's Coolest Borough
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Brooklyn is now officially the hippest place to be, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.
The poll released Tuesday found that 67 percent of New York voters believe Brooklyn is the coolest borough.
"I like Brooklyn, it's better," said Omar. "Brooklyn is the best. It's a lot of fun over here. It's a good place."
Born and bred in Brooklyn long before the first baristas arrived, 52-year-old Rich told 1010 WINS' John Montone he joined the Army at 18, traveled the world but came back to his home in Brooklyn.
"They say Manhattan's a very cool place, but I think Brooklyn's cooler," he said.
Amar, who owns a hookah hangout, said there's no doubt Brooklyn is the capital of cool.
"Places to see, people to see, hangouts, drinks and the hookah," he said.
When asked if he considered himself a hipster, Amar laughed and said "I don't think so."
