Police: Woman Held Up By Female Suspect At Knifepoint In Lower Manhattan Bar

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Thursday were searching for a woman who tried to rob another woman at knifepoint in a downtown Manhattan bar.

Around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, the suspect came up to the 25-year-old victim inside the Growler bar, at 15 S. William St., while she sat at a table, police said.

The assailant went on to put a knife to the woman's face and demand money, police said.

The suspect tried to take the woman's purse, but fled with nothing, police said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic female standing about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 220 to 240 pounds.
