Police: Woman Attacked, Beat Bus Driver On Long Island

FRANKLIN SQUARE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were investigating an attack on a bus driver on Long Island, which allegedly happened after a woman got mad that the bus did not make an unscheduled stop.

The 38-year-old woman was driving a Nassau County Inter-Express Bus on the N6 line, headed west on the Hempstead Turnpike, when the woman became upset that the bus did not make the stop, police said.

As the bus approached New Hyde Park Road, the woman began hitting the driver in the head.

The bus stopped and the woman got off, along with a young girl, police said. The driver was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries.

Police did not provide a useful description of the suspect.
