Police: Woman, 23, Stabbed To Death On Bronx Street

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A 23-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her husband in an attack that began in a car and ended outside a Bronx home, police said.

Police said officers responding to a 911 call Saturday found Amarita Khan unconscious and unresponsive with multiple knife wounds.

The South Ozone Park, Queens, woman was pronounced dead at Jacobi Medical Center.

Nazir Khan is charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

The 25-year-old man started stabbing his wife inside a car around 6 p.m. and continued attacking her after she attempted to flee, police said.

Several people saw the situation unfold in front of 1538 Hone Ave. between the Parkchester and Morris Park neighborhoods.

It is unclear if they tried to intervene. Police say their investigation is continuing.
