Police: Video Shows Attempted Jewelry Store Robbery, Brawl In Clifton, N.J.

CLIFTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Shocking video Friday night showed an attempted jewelry store robbery in Clifton, New Jersey that turned into a fist fight between the owner and the suspect.

The suspected thief is seen reaching over a counter at Tony's Jewelers in Clifton. The owner tries pushing the suspect away, and the two men start pummeling each other.

Ultimately, the suspect took off without taking anything, according to the Passaic County Sheriff's office.

Authorities have arrested and charged Edgardo Cuevas, 39, in the case.

The store owner suffered facial injuries, police said.
