Police: Suspect Stole Car Keys From Paramus Gym Lockers, Ransacked Cars

PARAMUS, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Paramus, N.J. said Friday that they have caught a health club bandit who allegedly broke into lockers, took their car keys and then ransacked their cars.

Christopher Gallo, 20, of Belleville, N.J., was charged following an investigation by the Paramus Police Detective Division.

In January and February, numerous thefts were reported from health club locker rooms in Paramus. In particular on the afternoon of Feb. 10, when several lockers were burglarized at the 24-Hour Fitness at 260 Route 4 Eastbound, police said.

Police said while customers were working out, Gallo ransacked their belongings, took their car keys, and took credit cards, cash and GPS units from their cars, police said.

Gallo was arrested this past Saturday at his home, police said. He was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, and theft of credit cards and was ordered held on $50,000 bail.
