Police: Shots Fired At Busy Peekskill Intersection; No One Injured

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Shots rang out just before lunchtime Wednesday at one of Peekskill's busiest intersections.

Police are looking for two people involved in the incident at North Division and Main streets, WCBS 880's Paul Murnane reported.

Police Lt. John White said no one was hurt, although a bullet nicked the windshield of a passing car.

Cops believe the shots were targeted at someone who was on foot.

White said police found four or five 9 mm shell casings at the scene.

Authorities are interviewing witnesses and looking for suveillance video that may have captured the incident.

Gabriel Arango said he heard the shots from the street inside his Iron Vine restaurant.

"Loud, kind of like a jackhammer," he described. "Pop, pop, pop, pop."
