Police Seek Suspect Who Ripped Off iPhone In Bay Ridge Subway Station

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Tuesday were asking the public to help them find a suspect who ripped off an iPhone from a woman at a subway station in southern Brooklyn.

Around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, June 8, the suspect snatched the 31-year-old woman's iPhone from her hand at the Bay Ridge Avenue R Train station, police said.

The suspect then ran out of the station.

The suspect was described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 21, standing 5 feet 11 to 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 160 to 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, and blue sweat pants with a white stripe on the legs.

Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect.
