Police Seek Suspect Who Hit Young Woman With A Bottle In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are on the hunt for a man they say assaulted a young woman with a bottle early last Saturday morning.

According to police, the incident happened at around 3:05 a.m. outside of 1538 University Ave. in the Bronx.

Police said the suspect, who was with a group of men, repeatedly punched the 18-year-old victim and struck her in the head with a bottle.

The woman lost consciousness during the attack and sustained multiple facial injuries and chipped teeth, officials said. She was rushed to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center where she was treated for her injuries.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male, between the ages of 20 and 25, and approximately 5'6" tall. He was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt, blue jeans and a white belt.

He was also caught on surveillance video inside of a deli, police said.
