Police Seek 2 Suspects Who Held Up Inwood Gym

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were asking for assistance from the public Tuesday in finding two men who robbed an Inwood gym at gunpoint earlier this month.

Around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, the men walked into the Planet Fitness gym at 177 Dyckman St., at the corner of Vermilyea Avenue, police said.

Surveillance video showed the robbery in progress. One of the suspects is seen jumping over a counter while holding a gun and confronting a gym employee, and soon afterward, the two suspects clear out two different cash registers behind the counter.

The two men were both wearing Halloween-style masks and white gloves. The armed man was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and white gloves, and the other man was wearing a white Milwaukee Brewers baseball jersey with the name Fielder on the back, police said.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto Crime Stoppers' website, or text tips to CRIMES (274637) and enter TIP577.
