Police Search For Woman Accused Of Letting Dog Pee On Clothes At Lane Bryant Store

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a New Jersey woman whose dog marked its territory in a unique way.

At around at 1 p.m. on Nov. 17, a Toms River police officer responded to a report of a disruptive woman at a Lane Bryant clothing store located at 1232 Hooper Ave.

Store employees told police a woman entered the store with a small dog and allowed the dog to urinate on 14 dresses and 11 pair of pants, police said.

The damage to the dresses was more than $2,000, police said.

The woman was asked to leave the store but became belligerent and refused, police said.

Police arrived as the woman got into her car but were unable to stop her.

Police chased the woman who they said ran several red lights. Officers eventually stopped their pursuit because of wet road conditions and potential danger to motorists.

The woman was identified through her license plate as Theresa M. Tumbleson, 35, of Jackson, N.J.

She is facing charges of eluding a police officer and obstruction of the law.

Bail is set at $30,000. Additional charges will be filed for the incident within the store.

Efforts to arrest Tumbleson at home home have been unsuccessful and she remains at large.
