Police Search For Suspects Who Smashed Into, Allegedly Burglarized S.I. Pawn Shop

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Tuesday released a surveillance video of three suspects who smashed the front window of a Staten Island pawn shop and allegedly burglarized it.

Around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, July 31, the two suspects used a brick to smash the front window of the Casa de Empenzo pawn shop, at 438 Port Richmond Ave. in the Elm Park section of Staten Island, police said.

The suspects then went into the store, broke display cases, and took cellphones and jewelry, police said.

The video showed the suspects running up, while one of them throws the brick and breaks the glass. They then both duck into the pawn shop.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
