Police Search For Suspect Who Stole Dough From Williamsburg Muffin Shop

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Tuesday were asking the public to help them find a suspect who ripped off $6,000 from the New York Muffins shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Around 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, the suspect found his way into the establishment at 198 Bedford Ave. in Brooklyn through the basement, and took the cash from an unlocked office safe, police said.

The suspect was described as wearing a gray varsity jacket with light-colored sleeves, the letter M on the front side, and a black hoodie, blue jeans and black sneakers.

Police have released surveillance video of the suspect.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
