Police Search For Suspect Who Groped Woman In Queens Apartment Building

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Wednesday were searching for a suspect who allegedly followed a woman into her building in Queens and groped her.

Around 12:10 a.m. this past Saturday, the 52-year-old woman was walking into her building in Woodhaven, Queens, when a man she did not know followed her into the vestibule and grabbed her buttocks, police said.

The victim screamed and the suspect ran off south on Jamaica Avenue, police said.

The suspect was described as a male Hispanic in his late teens, wearing a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball cap and a black T-shirt with the number 18 on the back, police said.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
