Police Search For Man Who Took Lottery Tickets, Nearly $8,500 From Brooklyn Deli
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Tuesday were asking the public to help them find a suspect they said stole nearly $8,500 from a deli in Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn.
Around 12:15 a.m. March 23, the suspect walked into the Malcolm X Boulevard Deli, at 92 Malcolm X Blvd. in Brooklyn, and cut a hole through the ceiling, police said.
Upon entering, the suspect took about $2,500 from the cash register and about $5,980 from the ATM, police said. He also took Lottery scratch-off tickets and cigarettes, police said.
The suspect then entered several stores where he cashed in the winning scratch-off lottery tickets, police said. Surveillance video from the New Garden Farm Inc., at 452 Seneca Ave. in Brooklyn, captured the suspect, police said.
Police have released the video.
