Police Search For Assailant In Attack On Woman, 70, In Park Slope Subway Stop

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Thursday were asking the public to help them find a suspect in an attack on a 70-year-old woman in a Brooklyn subway station this past weekend.

Police said the suspect came up to the woman and punched her in the head around 10:45 a.m. this past Sunday, on the southbound platform of the Fourth Avenue-Ninth Street elevated R Train stop in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

The suspect fled on foot. Police did not indicate how seriously the woman was injured.

Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
