Police Release Sketch, Video Of Man Wanted In Mineola Murder
MINEOLA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police have released a sketch and surveillance video of a man wanted in connection with a murder in Mineola.
Oscar Ventura, 44, was shot and killed in front of his Roslyn Road home around 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 11.
He had just gotten out of a cab when he was confronted by a gunman in his driveway, his brother Miguel Ventura said in January.
The victim's brother said he heard someone say "give me the money" and then a gunshot. He said he called 911 as soon as he saw his brother was shot in the head, but no gunman.
The victim, who police said is also known as Oscar Granados, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the newly released surveillance video shows the suspect walking through a parking lot prior to the incident.
"As you know we do the best work -- between the media and the public and ourselves. We have a composite that has been prepared by a witness and our composite artist," Nassau Police Capt. John Azzata told reporters, including WCBS 880's Sophia Hall.

Relatives said Ventura, an immigrant from El Salvador, has two children and spent most of his time working as a painter.
