Police Release Photos Of 2 Wanted For Questioning In Death Of New Jersey College Student

WEST ORANGE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Prosecutors investigating the death of a college student in West Orange, N.J. released surveillance photos of two men they want to speak to in connection with the case.

They said the men in the pictures may have been witnesses to the murder of Brendan Tevlin.

The 19-year-0ld Tevlin was found fatally shot inside his Jeep in West Orange Thursday morning.

Around midnight Wednesday, police said they received reports of gunshots in the area of North Field Avenue and Walker Road. About a mile away, cops found Tevlin, of Livingston, dead from an apparent gunshot wound, authorities said.

The teen reportedly was visiting a friend and had just texted his mom to say he was headed home.

Tevlin had just completed his freshman year at the University of Richmond in Virginia, and was home from college for the summer.

Police said they believe Tevlin was targeted, but haven't elaborated on why.
