Police Probe Slaying Of Teen Who Died Of Gunshot Outside Brooklyn Police Station

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police searching Tuesday for an assailant, after a 16-year-old boy was found dead of a gunshot outside a police station in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

Police found the victim around 5:45 p.m. Monday with a gunshot wound to the torso, outside the 88th Precinct House at 298 Classon Ave. The site is also adjacent to the Pratt Institute campus on the cusp of Bedford-Stuyvesant and Clinton Hill.

Police said the victim was shot about a block south between 343 and 345 Classon Ave., and then walked to the police station.

He was identified as Laquan Nelson of Brooklyn.

As of Tuesday night, no one had been arrested and the investigation continued.
