Police: Officers Pull 3 Men From East River In Queens; 2 Had Jumped In

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police Monday evening pulled men from the water after they jumped into the East River offshore from Long Island City, Queens, along with a third person who jumped in to rescue them himself.

The men, both in their 20s, jumped into the water off 48th Street in Queens, police said. A Good Samaritan then jumped in to try to save them, police said.

Police pulled all three from the water.

The men who had jumped into the water were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital for observation, police said.

The Good Samaritan refused medical attention.
