Police: Nonverbal, Autistic Teen Missing In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A nonverbal autistic teen was missing from his home in Brooklyn Friday night.
Daniel Ghabra, 14, was last seen by his mother at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, police said.
Police said he disappeared from a Laundromat at 6214 Eleventh Avenue in Brooklyn.
Ghabra is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 100 pounds, police said.
He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, black jeans and white sneakers.
Police have released a photo of Ghabra.
Last fall, another nonverbal autistic boy of the same age generated citywide headlines when he disappeared from his school in Long Island City, Queens.
Avonte Oquendo ran out of the Riverview School in October, generating a region-wide search. Three months later, Avonte's remains were found along the shoreline in Queens.
Avonte's family has filed a lawsuit against the city.
