Police: Mob Of About 7 Attacked, Beat Man In East New York, Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Saturday were asking for assistance from the public in finding a mob of men who attacked and beat a man and took his wallet in East New York, Brooklyn.

Around 10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, the 47-year-old man was walking down the south-side service road of Atlantic Avenue in East New York, when about seven men he did not know came up to him, police said.

The suspects hit the victim from behind and knocked him to the ground, and the suspects then all joined in kicking him and punching him and took his wallet, police said.

The suspects then ran off, police said.

The victim was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was treated for a broken jaw and numerous blunt force injuries, police said. As of Saturday, he was recovering and his condition was stable.

Police have released several surveillance photos of suspects in the incident.
