Police: Men Tried To Rob KFC At Gunpoint In Bridgeport, Connecticut

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Bridgeport, Connecticut were asking for help from the public in finding two suspects who tried to rob a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant.

Officers responded around 9:12 p.m. Sunday, to the KFC at 325 Boston Ave. in Bridgeport, police said.

An employee said she saw two men in hooded sweat shirts walk into the store over the security cameras. They walked to the front counter, and one pulled a gun, police said.

The employee fled to the rear office and called 911, police said.

One of the suspects tried to get into a cash register, but they fled empty-handed, police said.

The suspects were both described as white or Hispanic males. One was described as tall with a slim build, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, sweat pants and black and white sneakers. He had the handgun, police said.

The second suspect had a slim build, a black hooded sweat shirt, a military-style backpack, and black and white sneakers, police said.

Police released surveillance video of the incident on the department Facebook page.
