Police: Man's Head Impaled On Rake Following Attack

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Authorities say a man's head became impaled on a metal garden rake after he was attacked in the garage of a southern New Jersey home.

Berkeley Township police tell the Asbury Park Press that the attack occurred late Thursday morning. But a motive for the incident remains under investigation.

The victim fell down after he was struck by a blunt object, and his head landed on the rake. He remained hospitalized Saturday in critical condition, but his name and further details on his injury have not been disclosed.

Berkley resident 31-year-old Daniel Sutton is charged with aggravated assault. He was being held on $50,000 bail, and it was not known if he has an attorney.
