Police: Man Tries To Steal Donation Boxes From Long Island Mosque
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Nassau County police are searching for a man who they said tried to steal donation boxes at a Farmingdale mosque.
The man walked into the Masjid Bilal Mosque on Fulton Street through an open rear window around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, according to police.
Investigators said he then attempted to remove two wall-mounted donation boxes, but both turned out to be empty, CBS2 reported.
