Police: Man Tries To Abduct 7-Year-Old Girl In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have released a sketch of a man who they said tried to abduct a 7-year-old girl in Queens.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Monday near Corona Avenue and National Street in Corona.

The suspect drove up to the girl and motioned with his hand for her to get into the car, police said.

When she refused, police said the suspect drove away heading southbound on National Street towards Corona Avenue.

The incident has left many residents in the neighborhood shaken.

"I'll definitely hold on more tightly to my children and keep a more close watch," one woman told 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck.

The suspect was driving a 2012-2014 black four-door Toyota Camry with tinted windows and white New York State license plates, police said.
