Police: Man Tried To Lure Girl Into Car In Williamsburg

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police released a sketch and surveillance photos Thursday of man who allegedly tried to kidnap an 11-year-old girl in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Around 5:50 p.m. Friday, March 13, the girl was walking near Manhattan Avenue and Moore Street, when the suspect pulled up in a silver sport-utility vehicle and began waving at the girl to come toward him, police said.

The victim ignored the suspect and went on walking, police said.

The suspect then parked his vehicle and kept waving at the girl to come toward him, police said.

The girl ran off, as did the suspect, police said.

The suspect was described as a 35-year-old white male, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and wearing dark clothing. Police have also released surveillance images of the vehicle.
