Police: Man Stole $800 From Stranger's Bank Account In East Village

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police Tuesday night were searching for a suspect who stole $800 from a man's bank account in the East Village last month.

On Monday, Dec. 23, the victim realized he had misplaced his debit card, and upon looking at his checking account, discovered that someone had withdrawn $800 from the Chase Bank at 156 Second Ave.

Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
