Police: Man Stabs Father, Sister Then Jumps To Death In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police say a man killed his father and injured his sister before killing himself early Tuesday in Brooklyn.

Police were first called on a report of a person stabbed at 1070 Ocean View Ave. in Brighton Beach around 2:30 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found 59-year-old Voclodymyr Yeushchenko stabbed in the neck inside an apartment, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Outside the building, police said cops found Yeushchenko's son, 30-year-old Kostyantyn Proskurnyak, with severe body trauma.

Police said he had apparently jumped from the building after stabbing his father and 29-year-old sister.

He was taken to Coney Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Soon after, police were called to the corner of Brighton Beach Avenue and Coney Island Avenue where they found Proskurnyak's sister with stab wounds to her back, wrist and forehead.

She was taken to Lutheran Medical Center in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
