Police: Man Robbed Woman, 74, Of Jewelry Outside Long Island Home

WOODMERE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Nassau County police were searching Wednesday night for a suspect who accosted and robbed a 74-year-old woman in broad daylight in Woodmere.

Around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, the woman was driving into the garage of her home on Longacre Avenue in Woodmere, when she was approached by a man who put his hand over her face and demanded her jewelry, police said.

The victim handed over undisclosed pieces of jewelry, and the suspect ran off, police said. The woman was not injured.
