Police: Man Put Woman, 69, In Chokehold, Robbed Her In L.I. Home

WOODMERE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Friday were searching for a robber who put a 69-year-old woman into a chokehold as she was walking through her house in Woodmere, Long Island.

The woman was entering her home on Forest Avenue in Woodmere through a garage entrance when the man put her in a chokehold from behind, police said.

The man demanded the woman's jewelry and wallet. The woman handed over the items and the man ran off, police said.

Police had no description of the suspect other than that he may have been wearing a hooded shirt.
