Police: Man Molested Runner After NYC Marathon Last Fall

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police released photos Tuesday of a man who allegedly groped a woman who had just run the TCS New York City Marathon back in the fall.

Around 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, the 29-year-old woman was standing at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 29th Street in the NoMad area, waiting for a red light to change after running the marathon.

The suspect walked up to the woman and squeezed her buttocks, police said. When the woman turned around to confront him, he squeezed one of her breasts, police said.

The woman fought the man's advances, and cut her left hand while doing so, police said.

The man ran south on Fifth Avenue, but a witness took photos of him as he was fleeing, police said. Police released those photos Tuesday.

The suspect was described as a black male standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue winter bubble jacket with brown patches on the elbows, a white shirt under his jacket, and blue jeans.
