Police: Man Killed In Union Square Hit-And-Run

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver after a deadly crash in Union Square early Sunday morning

A 33-year-old man was struck by a car around 3:15 a.m. while crossing Fifth Avenue between East 15th and East 16 streets, police said. He was found lying on the roadway with severe head trauma, authorities said.

The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities identified him as Doohee Cho, of Manhattan.

Police are looking for a white two-door sedan with possible damage.

"It's terrible," one woman told 1010 WINS' Roger Stern. "I feel terrible anytime I hear someone's killed here."

Another New Yorker had a warning for pedestrians: "Do it at the crosswalk at the light when it says to do it, or you will get hit."
